We are making a game based on a Japanese series, there will always be a decision to make on what to keep Japanese, and what to make English. There are like 5 ranks. There will be over a hundred jutsus in time. Yes - a large number of our players will be Naruto fans. But everyone understands English. 70-80% of the playerbase will be Naruto fans. 50% of them. 10% of them will know what Mikazuki no Mai is. 5% will know what Doton: Gansetsukon or Tessenka no Mai: Tsuru is. So where do we draw the line on what Jutsus will be called "Mikazuki no Mai" and which are called "Substitution Jutsu"? because we certainly won't be naming half of them in Japanese, and another half English names. To somebody who spoke Japanese, the Jutsu's function is spelled out. That's the way it should be. People who watch the anime who understand Japanese, instantly know what Kawarimi no Jutsu means when it is mentioned because the name makes sense, not because they memorize it. This may not be the same as certain advanced jutsu names like Dance of the Crescent Moon etc. But imagine joining MapleStory and having to memorize skill names that are in Japanese. Authenticity is 2nd to gameplay right now. You guys have to know that Nin Online is a game, not the anime itself. If there are things that break authenticity but make the game better, I'd be more inclined to make the game more fun. In this case, it barely matters. You will see scrolls named Body Replacement Technique Scroll or Substitution Technique Scroll instead of Kawarimi no Jutsu Scroll. Or maybe we can even consider Kawarimi no Jutsu Makimono! Kantan'niieba, wareware wa eigo de kaku tame ni anki suru no ga benrina mono o sentaku shimasu. If you weren't a fan of Elvish lore, and you played a WoW Blood Elf or something, and all the GUI and names of skills were written in Elvish. It would be annoying because you don't read, write or speak Elvish.

He's a baller. Being in shape and fit is always a good thing, and supplements make it easier. When you're spending time getting in shape or working out, you'd want to maximize your efforts, and supplements really help.

Well, you can learn for the game sake, that's easier since we all speak English here. People who don't know Japanese and don't watch the anime will find it harder to start memorizing Japanese words/names. Also, Henge/Transforming will definitely be in I'm planning two kinds, one that transforms you into target players, and one which will turn you into objects. You'll have to remain stationary for the objects one, so it'll be pretty hard to utilize in actual combat. But imagine its possibilities as a way to ambush or escape. Lots of fun things we can do with this as well, like find the admin events xD

Because its an English game, and people who don't watch the series can still understand Body Replacement Technique. Kawarimi will confuse them.

@Sam to escape, you'll have other Jutsus, like cloaking. But that's detectable by sensor ninjas. It also dispels if you get hit, or attack. Yes, you can use Jutsus all the time @Ryoshi I'm glad!

Sorry, I'll be calling Jutsus with their English names though. Body Replacement Technique Shunshin is pretty OP, but I'll see how I can have it in, but a very balanced version of it. One possibility is that I can make it simply move you about 3-5 tiles nearer to your enemy, but it won't instantly teleport you to the enemy if he's too far away, just close the gap a little. It also will not be able to be used to run away. I emphasize a lot on making it hard to escape from fights because it kind of makes PvP annoying, and make PKers need to do burst damage instead of sustain damage in order to be viable. This way, you can have it as a method to move you nearer to your enemy, while enemies who are already far away, can escape.

To end off, only admins will have Global chat when we make a proper release. For convenience sake, while we have a small community, we're giving players such an option. This will eventually get abused with "S> Scroll of God Jutsus", when such a time comes, we'll remove it. Also, players are free to chat any way they like.

The reason I won't make stuns limited to Genjutsu is because then only Genjutsu users will ever get to their opponent. There will probably be explosive kunais that stun people, taijutsu skills that stun people, earth Jutsus that stun people etc.

Body Replacement Technique With this technique, users replace their own body with some other object, generally with a block of wood, the moment an attack lands. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. From this, the user can use the lapse in the enemy's attention to attack or flee from the battlefield. http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Body_Replacement_Technique I'm going with the attack one for Kawarami, because if you wanted to escape, you could just use our cloaking jutsu.

Yeah, I thought about the Shunshin-ing thing. Because characters run, it'll be hard to catch an opponent if there's no way to move to the opponent fast. I'm planning on giving players Crowd Control jutsus with slows and stuns.

Yeap, Kawarami is in it works like a buff, you prepare it, and on the next attack it teleports you behind the enemy. There will be a cooldown for this of course.

Use your forum profiles for bios, then make a forum topic and link it. Make accumulative posts which list profiles of all Leaf, Kiri characters etc. by rank. I don't want people's characters to be a forum topic. I want them to own an identity, that's why they belong in the profile. If you have a clan, just organize yourselves with a topic and I'll pin it. As long as its legit RP and fits into the world fine.

No ideas for this at the moment. I personally do not like any system in any game that I've seen implementing it. The idea is alright - just not special, and doesn't fit into our current combat system. thanks for the suggestion though.
