What kind of events would you like to see?

There's a lot of people here who have played events in other games and hence could give me more ideas on what events we should be planning to keep players engaged each month.

These events can be anything, things in and out of character, like capture the bell or a sort of King of the hill event.

My only guideline for these ideas is that I don't want them to get too far away from actual gameplay.

So if your idea requires a lot of extra programming/features leave them out!

What we have so far is a monthly Chunnin exams, which is held in a different village under different rules each month.

We also have diplomatic events such as making Kages of each village choose escorts to bring them to a common point where new alliances will be shifted around.

We need more events on a small scale, more for fun and rewards and less about story.

So suggestions please!

I think the obvious one is Tournaments. Maybe you can have a sign up area that will pull the player back once a time limit for sign ups has been reached or a player limit has been reached so long as a minimum amount of players for the tournament has been met. You can have same "class" tournaments and any "class" tournaments. You can have Non-Elemental only and Elemental only. Also ofcourse having a sign or something that can show a leaderboard maybe every 3 months on who has performed the best in recent events just to keep it spicy for competition. Rewards could easily be distributed based on why type of tournament is being contended in. Ryo, Jutsu scroll, Rare Gear, Rare consumable, and so on.

And also may I suggest that this event(s) will happen every week(once). And will be change often monthly.

It sounds like a really basic event, I'd need it to stand out a lot from the Chunnin Exams 3rd and 4th stage though. Maybe you can think of how that could work.

You just gave me an idea for a hunting event, where players get sent to a map with different mobs and must hunt for X amount of items.

Tailed beasts aren't in the game yet, so I can't plan for that! I'm looking for more specific ideas like..

Eg. Toad Hunt

Be the first to massacre 100 toads and bring 100 frog legs to GM Rory to win the event and get a Toad Contract Scroll!

When i read *Toad Contract Scroll* suddenly that idea became very exciting.

But this idea could have its downside as some elements like wind and lighting have more AoE jutsus making it easier for them to kill mobs, which puts the other element affinities and the other professions (forgot how they called)  at a disadvantage

Capture the Bell/Flag/Scroll: Village Vs. Village(Kages select 5 ninjas to participate as a squad.(1-Squad Leader, 2-3- Assault Unit, 4-5- Defense Unit) Terrain is random, points to win are 3 or 5)/ World

 

1v1 Tournaments: Village Vs. Village(Kages select a certain number of ninjas & the draw is random. With enough wins under some players belts, they may earn titles or ranks.)

 

2v2 Tournaments: Village Vs. Village(Kages select 4 ninjas & pairs them off. The draw is random& with enough wins under a certain pair's belt may earn them titles of legend & secret missions or not)

 

King Of The Hill: Village Vs. Village/ World

 

Small Country Invasions: Village(Basically, name (1-3) different surrounding countries surrounding each village. Have each village having a a certain number of troops in different tiers & renowned war heroes as their leaders. Notice is sent to the Kage & he/she must open registration for the war or the village will take loss in economy. Titles of legend and prizes will be given for victory.)

Well @Rory I think having basic tournaments outside of the Chuunin exams will allow pvpers to continue to net rewards for doing what they love long after they become Chuunin without having to fully risk themselves on stronger maps or feeding off weak players and causing strife for management and other players via reports and map controlling.

I have a good one. TAILED BEAST EVENTS ! WHERE THE TAILED BEAST ATTACS THE VILLAGE AND WE GATHER PEOPLE TO STOP THEM. ALSO THE WINNER GETS TO HAVE IT SEALED INSIDE HIM.

Well @Rory I think having basic tournaments outside of the Chuunin exams will allow pvpers to continue to net rewards for doing what they love long after they become Chuunin without having to fully risk themselves on stronger maps or feeding off weak players and causing strife for management and other players via reports and map controlling.

History related events wouldn't be too bad either, like something where you take part in the massacre of the Uchiha, the onslaught of the Pain paths or face off against the Kage at the summit. It's an alternative from the Bijuu stuff. 

 

BLN had these challenge NPCs that you'd go to in order to play minigames. Can't exactly remember everything from the top of my head but the Sado challenge for example was this Space Invaders-like minigame where you'd just kill as many hollows as you can in order to get the best possible rewards. I'm sure tree climbing and jumping games featured in the first Ultimate Ninja Storm, just to give you ideas.

i like those ideas,i believe that the events should have a naruto feeling to them and not look out of place

What about like week long events?

 

Genin vs Jounin: based off the OVA

Basically Genin drop Blue Crystals, which are worth 1 point and Chunnin+ drop Red Crystals, which are worth 3. The objective is to collect as many Crystals as you can by the end date to recieve rewards, which have a 1st-3rd place ranking. And then maybe a consolation prize for the top 50?

 

To avoid abuse by spam killing newbs, you can have it so you can only drop a Crystal if you currently hold any.

Dungeons:

In this event a Dungeon will open up for an hour, in this hour you will be able to kill a mob(mob depends on which dungeon is opened) and collect summoning pieces, collect a certain amount and you will be able to summon them as a pet.

(thought about this and then saw the Toad Summon one. Excited about that!!! but wanted to post this anyway)

 

Great Ninja War:

All players team up against one common enemy. This NPC(Masked Man?) will have insane stats and will take a combined effort to kill him. While he doesn't regenerate Stamina over time, he does gain 10% of the max stamina of those he kills. 

 

Shogi: Kill the King:

An NPC will be summoned in each village which will not do anything. The purpose for the village is to Protect their King while also trying to kill the other villages King. This will pit Leaf vs Suna for a while since we will only have those two, but once other villages are added, it will be an all out war. Before the event starts, using your village pool, your Kage can higher mercenary ninja to help out your village to ensure victory.

Maybe making it in teams (of 3 for example) ? The first team to get the number of frog legs wins.

This way different element jutsus may be put to work together.

 

 

An idea would be : Battle Royal.

The last surviving wins. Meaning that short term alliances would have to be made and as easily ended. Also you would need to play it strategically.

Basically it's like the ninja world, but much much more faster.

 

 

Another idea : make mini-movies in game (2min or 3min max length)

It would boost people into RP and would be funny as hell.

 

 

I'd like to see a pie eating contest, but I have no real idea how to implement that one (other than "the one to click the fastest on his keyboard wins"...).

 

 

Soccer game : on the field players are immune to dammage, but if they touch the ball or if it gets hit by a jutsu, it goes in the direction it was hit. Basic.

 

 

Olympic games - The Spring of Youth !!!

1. Make a tour of the village by touching the checkpoints in the different maps around the village. Anything is allowed : fighting, teleportation or simply running.

2. First to kill 50 specific mobs (turtles i suggest).

3. Tap the moderator : the moderator/game master runs around and everyone has to try to get a hit. The first hit wins.

4. JANKEN !!!

5. Best outfit or best joke.

And everything ends with a cup of sake of course.

Gambling.

Kunai darts.

Rooftop races.

Rare NPC Spawns - Exclusive vendors, monsters with drops, etc.

Shop promotions - Limited time discounts, price drops, etc.

Weekly dungeons with extremely difficult modifiers.

Environmental disasters - Floods / Sandstorms destroying parts of the village exterior w/ quests to help repairs.

Ruins with tomb-raider style puzzles.

NPC's attempting to raid villages periodically.

Minigames for crafting/professions, possibly even Genjutsu escapes if that becomes a thing.

 

Some of these are events, some are features. I had more before my original post was rolled back.
