  1. Hey everyone, In the past month or so since I last made an announcement a lot has happened behind the scenes. We've made decisions to cut down on the amount of Naruto content going into the game, and even decided to take a spin on the elemental system because we felt this was a better elemental system. I'm going to put it up for discussion what people think about this, let me know, and we'll review the change! But what is the point in making decisions when nothing is being progressed right? In the past few days, I've been working on a few things (not ready to show-off), most importantly though, I've been struggling to get back the style of pixel art and the speed I used to work at creating art for the game! Bare with me! all the time in the army has been slowing down my brain a little. I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I've been very grateful to see the amount of support given to the game in my absence! It's also great to return to the community each time and see the familiar faces again and again. I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank Seth once again for his hard work. He's been draining himself a lot running the community and taking lead of the project. I'd also like to thank our highly talented artist Whispywill aka. Llexi for being passionate and continuing to produce artwork for us so faithfully. All I can say is expect some really neat new content soon! Regards, Rory
  2. From what I know, It's added to the machine for caching. So whatever system operations need memory to cache something, it uses that 16GB, so boot-up and applications work faster. Something like that I'm no systems expert. But it is a beauty. I must say, I really miss everyone!
  3. Dear Ninjas, First of all, I'm here again! Back in the flash for this festive season. I'll talk a bit about how things have been for myself in awhile, but before that. A belated Merry Christmas from me to the whole community, and an advanced Happy New Year to everyone! The end of the year signals roughly the 6 months mark for Nin Online's development, as you all know, the Nin Online you see now began development in June 2013. Despite being absent for the past two months or so from the community, I'd like to say that I still think about Nin Online everyday and hope everyone in the community and staff team awaits my return to normal development on the game's visual aspects! Seth has been doing a great job maintaining the community, managing the staff team and developing the game and as such, it has been a great honor to have him as a partner. I've recently ended Basic Military Training and am currently posted at an army camp near my house. Unfortunately, I only get to book out on weekends, so most of my days will be spent in camp. Luckily enough, I've recently bought a new laptop, and I'm getting the authorization to bring it into my army camp. This way, I can work on Nin Online at night! So expect me to be on here much more often in early 2014! Happy Holidays, Rory
  4. False. Selection of this role has been delayed due to some bugs in our event system. I'd rather have this settled before introducing a team who require this system.

  11. Server is up :) please update your clients.

  12. Game is online for testing, but take note that the Kuno Package quest is still not working!

  13. Dear Ninja, We have started testing the Roleplay feature, Organizations. About Organizations are an extension of the game right here in the forum. Organizations have to be faction based, for example, a Leaf-only Anbu, Missing Ninja-only Akatsuki. It also encompasses things like Journalism/Newspaper organizations. Organizations ARE NOT clans, and clans will not be approved. Creating an Organization Tentatively, creating Organizations is a Gold/Silver Ninja feature. Each organization has to be approved by a Moderator/Game Master/Administrator, and is subjecting to my dictatorship on every faction. To create an organization, visit the Organizations page from the top of the forum and click the "Add Organization" button on the right side of the panel. For now, a limited number of organizations will be approved, and they must meet these requirements. Well planned out, sustainable idea. Roleplay friendly. Good banners and management of Organization page. If these are not met, it will not be approved. Note: A nice banner will definitely play a huge part in whether your organization is approved. Be creative! Joining an Organization Joining an organization is open to everyone. However, Gold/Silver Ninja are able to join 2 organizations, while normal members can only join one. Organization owners can send invitations from their pages. Organization Pages The organization system is designed for heavy amounts of customization. You can create custom banners and avatars, lay out your page in your own manner with a simple drag and drop editor. It's all somewhat like your own Facebook fan-page right here on the forum. You can send invitations to players to join your organization, or if it's public, other players can request to join. Organizations allowed You are free to make any kind of organization within our RP setting, it must follow the timeline and not be extremely contradictory to anything stated in there. You may not create organizations based on actual organizations in the Naruto series. For example, do not submit applications for Hunter-nins or Konoha's Twelve Guardian Ninjas. These organizations will be created when the time is right and management of it will be handed out to a rightful player fairly. Some ideas for organizations.. Newspapers, Journalistic Corporation Bounty Hunter Organization New player assistance Organization Loot Hunting Organization Be creative with it! Maintenance Rules Take care of your Organization page and sub-forum. Do not leave the page inactive for too long. No explicit or illegal content to be shared within the spaces provided. If these rules are broken, your Organization may be deleted or worse. Regards, Rory
  14. Server is down for awhile :) thanks for waiting!

  15. Dear Ninja, First of all, we want to show our sincere apologies for the delays over the last few days. We understand that it has inconvenienced our supporters and deeply regret this, We encountered many problems, coming in one after another. When we thought we were ready to launch, another one popped up and we had no choice but to delay it. I'd like to personally thank you all for the support despite all of this. Thanks to you we have made it this far! I'm please to announce that the server is almost ready to go open for the second stage of our Alpha Test 2. It is LIVE for all members now. But take note it may go down at anytime. This is an Open Test for us to see how well the server can perform, and to weed out any outstanding/new bugs. You may download the client through the following mirrors. Take note that you must run the client from the launcher each time you play the game to make sure your client is up to date! Download Mirrors Logging into Nin Online Please take note that you do not need to register in-game anymore. You simply click the Login button and type your forum Login name and password. See you in game! Regards, Rory
  16. Yes as much as possible we want to bring in the same feeling the Naruto universe gives watchers/readers, but expand on that. Also, yes cloning is mostly fixed now! We're improving it's function still though!
  17. 2 years maybe. Thank you Bubbles that's very nice of you.
  18. Not really, the time I spent creating Leaf was also shared with creating the game engine and main gameplay elements as well. Setting up more of them based on the current system will not take as long. But expect each village to be released very far apart and expect the first one besides Leaf to be some time in the future.
  19. Rory's Development Log #11 Expanding Gameplay & Content This is just a little something to appease those who only look at my dev logs for pictures. The floor tiles are temporary as they aren't done originally, they're ripped from a GBA game right now. It's just a test for the future Syndicate/Missing Ninja main hide away. There will be such tunnels, and a very large "underworld". Talking about Missing Ninja. For those who have wondered about how this will work, you're in for a treat. Note: Everything I write here is subject to change. Faction System Soon after we have a stable village structure for the Leaf Village, we will expand into working on a Faction system that will pave the way for more villages following the Leaf Village as a successful formula. Each of this village (including Missing Ninjas as a collective village) will be placed into a Faction. Factions can either be Allies or Enemies. Village Leaders aka. Kage will be in-charge of deciding which Villages are allied and which are enemies. These decisions will be made through Game Masters, and from that point on, the villages Ninjas will be either.. Allies PvP (button) must be enabled to attack them, sort of like a Friendly Fire toggle. Enemies Open PvP anywhere, anytime. Concealing your identity makes yourself a "Ally" temporarily to everyone. As other Ninjas do not know you true identity, they cannot simply attack you anywhere. However, if they suspect you are an enemy, they may toggle PvP and attack you. Missing Ninjas will always been Open PvP, unless they have concealed their identities. Making more villages After a stable village game play is complete with enough content to satisfy players. We will work on the following in order. 1. Missing Ninjas 2. Sand Village 3. Mist Village 4. Cloud Village What comes after this in terms of factions is not planned and is up for healthy discussion! Content Generally We are very aware that the combat system is generally lacking. It is far from complete and we will be working on it when we have a server capable of handling our player base, stable enough for the long term. There will be many more Jutsus for all the elements, and even Jutsus for Medical, Taijutsu and Bukijutsu (weapon) ninjas. Combat is still undergoing a lot of planning, but we will aim to create it to be as fun as possible. It will be heavily based on Tactic, Skill and Build. We have been getting a lot of Jutsu work from @Kimi and we're thankful! Finally While most of the community has been very understanding about the delay, I'd still like to address this. We're really sorry if our lack of foresight has caused any trouble to anyone! We have gained valuable information from each test, no matter how short, and we spend hours a day fixing it. @Seth and @ have been working extremely hard to bring the game a stable release. Regards, Rory
  20. As I've said, everything was ready, but certain bugs came up. Thank you for your positivity.
  21. We're so sorry! It's really unexpected problems that arose today.
  22. This alpha's game play is a simple demo of what is to come in terms of features. But the function of the tests is to work on issues like server stability and capacity. We never expected players would entertain themselves by going to wolf killing sprees. The combat system has barely even been touched on, but we've been receiving so much criticism on that, hold your horses Nin community.
  23. Opening testing announced :)

  24. Dear Ninja, In the past 2 weeks since we've launched the Alpha test 2 for Gold/Silver Ninja, we have spent countless hours debugging, rewriting codes and adding new features. It has been very hectic and hence the time that was needed to prepare the server for open testing was delayed quite awhile. However, we are going to open the server to everyone starting tomorrow. The game is still buggy, lacking in content and may crash occasionally, but helping us test to further improve the game will be much appreciated. The game's development is slightly behind schedule, but we will push on forward with all of your support! Please note: There will be wipes & there will be crashes. But each time that happens, just know that you've helped us move forward through these tougher times! Opening time will be: Waiting for announcement. Regards, Rory
  25. That's a fun idea Will consider it.
