So im back guys and i thought that there should be an age system something like this

 

Age 1-2 = Baby icon

 

Age 3-5 = Toddler Icon

 

Age 6-9 = Little kid

 

Age 10-13 = Kid Icon

 

Age 14-18 = Adult icon (A little shorter than regular adult icon)

 

Age 18-50 = Adult icon

 

Age 50+= Old man icon

 

Also players will grow differently some players will be tall some short some average height you never know.

 

I know i don't have any icons and this is hard to do but if this is implemented in the game it would be Nice

That would take a lot of pixel art, I don't think thats ever goin to be added in.

 

I think they could just change the scale of the characters and have them gradually increase over time.

That could maybe work but the entire idea of an age system is a bit annoying. Not only would the whole leveling system have to be changed it just restricts players to spending more time on the game rather than actually doing something worthwhile. Unless the aging system is only meant to be an RP based mechanic (which wouldn't be worth the effort and is actually useless).

This has been discussed before, and answered. It is too much work on the artists' part for such a small gain. It will only look nice, but would take days, even months, to create multiple height sprites

@Samurai X You suggested to many Avatar Bases for the Pixel Artist to do not to mention how much of a main it would be to add Clothing for ALL of those Avatar Bases and the states to go with them.. and trust me I've seen Frog work on the Avatar Base to add Sword there are a lot of Icon States.

I don't see the benefit from having different ages anyways, aside from RPing. Which if it was a big deal then an option to have a display age would solve that, I suppose.

I know but im just stating some idea's i know that this one is hard but maybe later on in the game when the game is already more amazing than it is right now they can add this update

To be properly implemented, the idea you suggested takes 7 sprite bases.

We have 2 genders, so 14 sprite bases.

Each item paperdoll would then have to be done for 14 bases instead of 2.
Each paperdoll takes 88 frame animations per gender, so 176 in total.

 

176 x 14 = 2464
I'm not doing 2464 frames per items.
176 is already a crazy load of work!
