Being Born with the hatred after witnessing his siblings getting slaughtered by the Ukiyo Clan, Nebula grows up in the darkness and trains harder each day to become strong enough to become a Chunin and Jonin and with the hiigher rank, train the next generation to make sure they could defend themselves as well as their family.

Lightning element is the mastery but learning to use Earth element as he grows up little by little, thinking about revenge on Ukiyo clan.
