The Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist are a group of the most powerful and skilled swordsmen in Mist, each of whom wields one of seven powerful swords (passed down in Kiri). Of all the known members, which also included Zabuza Momochi and Kisame Hoshigaki, Chojuro is the sole surviving official member. Meanwhile, Mangetsu Hozuki's younger brother, Suigestu Hozuki, dreams of collecting all their swords and reforming the group once again.

The seven swords are Hiramekarei (wielded by Mangetsu and later Chojuro), Kabutowari (wielded by Jinin Akebino), Kiba (wielded by Raiga Kurosuki and later Ameyuri Ringo), Kubikiribocho (wielded by Zabuza), Nuibari (wielded by Kushimaru Kuriarare), Samehada (wielded by Fuguki Suikazan and later Kisame), and Shibuki (wielded by Jinpachi Munashi). Before the start of the series, Kirigakure lost all of them save Hiramekarei, as most of the Swordsmen became missing-nin. They regain them only after the end of the Fourth Ninja War.
