They don't know what Alpha beta is. Smh! You guys do what you guys need to do. Don't worry about the non intelligent ones. Its common since that its in alpha beta that it be offline a lot to do bugs and construction. This is like building a house, You gotta make sure everything working properly folks! Bathroom working with a good pluming system, Kitchen with a working stove and fridge. AC works to have air and a heater to be warm during the cold. All these things are like building a game. You gotta make sure the game is stable. People need to be patient during this progress or they can just go kick rocks. Whenever the game hits beta or so on. Then they can ask questions about when the server be back up or why its down. I know what yall going through.

honestly its just a bunch of spoiled kids who dont know what an indie game is. i wouldnt worry too much about it seth you are working hard and thats what counts when it comes to projects like this. do your best because thats what really counts not what other people think. there are always gonna be naysayers

Is there a way for staff members to check the chat without beeing displayed there? In this way you still can *read* what peoples are complaining/ thinking/ troubleing about but people do not actually expect a direct answer from the developer. This would allow you to get the information that might be necessary to solve a certain bug, but still keeps enough distance to not get affected or involved personally.

About that server maintance banner.... well this has been there when I registered and logged in 2 days ago when the server was online, so that banner is not much of a accurate thing here.... The common answer in the chat is 'just scroll up and hope that question if it is online got already answered' and 'why even creating a server status when a chat exists'. Personally I would recommend a server online/offline on a fix place on the homepage that is always at the same place but works as a relieable source. Of course fixing rollbacks is more important right now (though I never experienced one :P)

tldr:

Do not get dragged down by too much interaction with the playerbase. Have your chatting but also have a strict area where you can fall back.
