Mart456 Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Boss Theme and Hidden Layer need to be more sinister in flow. The style and flow of those two pieces of music just seem too energetic and light. We just need something darker. Remember this is going to be a game based on a Universe where fighting a boss is a rarity and beating that boss will be even more of a rarity so it has to be a theme that nobody will ever forget and the same concept goes for hidden locations like underground bases. You want something to make people feel uneasy about the situation, something that tells the player, "Get Out!" and something that makes the player say, "Maybe I shouldn't venture any further". The rest of the music is ok, however a lot of them are starting to sound the same. I would like to see a lot more creativity with this music. I myself have worked with concerts, band concerts, orchestra concerts, and even plays requiring the use of instrumental music. There is so much more room for improvement with the music on this game. Work harder at this Afilion. I'm not saying it's bad, but it needs some more work. Lets try and improve on the feeling and vibe of the music during this Alpha. Mainly work towards the mood of a person's heart and mind so that they feel something deep when listening to the soundtrack of Ninonline. I hope this information and constructive criticism helps you in your endeavor. I hope you take my words of my wisdom.

I made the boss theme in like 30 min as you could have seen in my stream yesterday and it's still not finished. As for the tracks sounding samey do you mean melodically, harmonically, compositionally or just that I am using the same 6 Japanese instruments in almost every track. I am trying to make it sound cohesive. Thanks for your feedback though @Shawn Jones

If you can, try other instruments, but it's not really that bad. They sound good and I love the use and sound of the Japanese instruments used in your music. Your original tracks are off the charts. If you want to change those you can but you don't have to (They're awesome). The only main two that I would like to see you work on would be the Hidden Lair and Boss Theme. Other then that you're doing fine bro :-D
